Who is The Running Knitter?

When you think of someone who knits, what comes to your mind?  Do you picture an older, grey haired woman sitting in her rocking chair, covered with an afghan, knitting by the t.v.?   Well, think again.  Times have changed and knitting has become a very popular hobby for the younger generation.

I’m a married thirty-something runner and knitter in the desert southwest.   Running and knitting in the triple digit temperatures during the summer are not easy.   Afterall, who wants to run outside in that heat, and then come inside and knit something you most likely won’t be able to wear until winter?  But I love running and knitting too much to stop – even if it is just for a few summer months.  So the trick is to acclimate to running in the heat, and to knit things that you can wear all year round, like socks.  :)
