The true spirit of giving

Every Christmas, I knit some gifts for friends and family. I usually just get a “thank you”, and this always left me with a feeling that the person receiving the gift doesn’t really “appreciate” the time and effort that go into a hand made gift. Then I read this post by
Purlene and it reminded me that the true spirit of giving is in giving – not in expecting a certain reaction from those that you give to.
My best present this year was being able to wear a pair of pants today that were way too small for me 8 weeks ago. Today, I tried them on and they were too big!

I finished one of the Monkey socks, and I love how they came out. They were a pretty quick knit and I should have the 2nd one done soon.
I also cast on the
Zig Zag Lace Scarf in Malabrigo worsted, which is my most favorite yarn.
Have a safe and happy new year!
